Mission Statement

“Our Mission is to provide music related services and products of the highest possible quality, and do so in a manner which is honest, ethical, profitable and mutually beneficial to our customers and MusiCare.”

11002623_10153097109863536_2342838009612960826_nThe experience and philosophies of Dave Sevy provide the basis for the work done at MusiCare Musical Instrument Service Center. Dave began his apprenticeship in 1953 and has been learning and teaching musical instrument repair ever since.

Dave studied Music Education at the College of Idaho and played in the 25th Army Band for 27 years. His combined experience as a musician and music educator gives him the unique and valuable ability to help other musicians solve their musical problems, whether the “loose screws” are on an instrument or in the musicians “head”. Dave helps all those that work for him understand the value of his approach and his “Caring” philosophy is readily apparent to his many customers, be they student or professional. These philosophies have also been captured in the educational video,“Take Care! Take Pride! A Video Guide to Musical Instrument Care”.

In addition to his 50 plus years of quality instrument repair, Dave Sevy has given numerous clinics and seminars on instrument care throughout the inter-mountain region. Dave also plays a custom Bass Trombone, of his own making, in the Idaho State University Civic Symphony and has played with the Idaho Falls Symphony as well.  This experience as a working musician has given Dave a unique and useful perspective when working with student and professional musicians alike.

He also continues to capture and package Dave’s valuable experience to create products like the Take Care! Take Pride! videos and DVDs. Jim is also the webmaster of the MusiCare website and helps to manage the day to day operations of MusiCare. Jim is also a musician and plays electric bass with several jazz groups in the area. He toured the US and Canada with the BYU Young Ambassadors and Ricks College Showtime groups and has played lead roles in many community theater musical productions such as; Annie, Jane Eyre – The Musical, Paint Your Wagon, Beauty & the Beast and Fiddler on the Roof.
